Meal Distribution Continues into the School Year

Pick-Up Hours and Some Locations Change

September 11, 2020 – Springfield Public Schools and its food service provider Sodexo will continue to provide breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks as they have all summer, though there will be some changes in the distribution schedule beginning next week.

Beginning Monday, September 14^th:

• Meals will be distributed on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays instead of Monday -Friday.  Though pick-up days have been reduced from five per week over the summer to three per week for the fall, the service will still provide meals for seven days a week. Monday pick-up will include meals for Tuesday and Wednesday. Wednesday pick-up will include meals for Thursday and Friday. Friday pick-up will include meals for Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

• Distribution will continue to occur at 17 sites as it did all summer, but some of the locations have been changed to provide greater convenience to families. Pick up locations will now include: Boland, Brookings, Central, Chestnut, Deberry, Duggan, Forest Park, Harris, Indian Orchard, Lincoln, Milton Bradley, Putnam, Rebecca Johnson, Talmadge, Van Sickle, Warner and Washington.

   

   

• Pick-up hours will be 2 – 6 p.m.  instead of 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to better accommodate working parents. At the Central High School pick-up location, the Friday pick-up time is 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
